Nokia N8, Samsung Wave and Nokia X6

Nokia N8, Samsung Wave and Nokia X6

Nokia N8                                                   Nokia X6                    Samsung Wave

Within budget 22K

Consider Nokia N8, Samsung Wave and Nokia X6
Wave has 1 G Hz processor (good performance), superb screen and sound but camera  does not have flash that’s a negative point.
Nokia N8 has got good camera (12 MP) with everything, good music and all. But the OS i.e. Symbian 3 is outdated in front of Android. Still very cool if u r not a multitasker and want to listen to songs and take good snaps.
Nokia X6 is touchscreen with good camera, sound and storage…….

My verdict
Go for Wave if you like display and speed and you don’t give much thought about photos.
Go for N8 if you want superb pics and music and can manage with Symbian OS.

Samsung Wave –User Review

Samsung Wave –User Review

About Wave, with a 1ghz processor, 512 RAM, 5MP, SUPER AMOLED (best feature).. it’s something I can call “state-of-art” but only downside is BADA (though it’s been a great hit lately). But again android app store is advantage over it.

Many of my friends want to buy Wave but as I got to know, it has been discontinued due to Super Amoled (it’s too costly for company and supply < demand)
Samsung has now launched Wave 2 (with Super LCD – inferior to super amoled).

HTC Wildfire Vs Samsung Galaxy 3

HTC Wildfire Vs Samsung Galaxy 3-User Review

HTC Wildfire                                                            Samsung Galaxy 3

I am using a Samsung galaxy 3 and it is way better than HTC wildfire because it has higher res 240x400 WQVGA screen compared to wildfire’s poor 240x320 QVGA screen. Also galaxy 3 has a fast 667 MHz processor compared to the 528 MHz wildfire. And galaxy 3 is around 3k cheaper than wildfire.
To make a long story short, according to many review sites, Galaxy 3 is a best buy in the 10k-15k price categories in India.

Well, depends what you want and how much you are willing to compromise..

Wave = BADA, 1 GHz processor, Awesome Screen, Interface is a bit cluttered. It is very fast but most pricey. Lesser Applications are there and even lesser free apps from Samsung store.
Wildfire = ANDROID 2.1 upgrade to 2.2 in pipeline, a slower processor (528 MHz) than Wave but great user experience. It is a complete value for money.  Lots of free apps from android market. Camera is 5MP and that too with LED flash.
Galaxy 3 = ANDROID 2.1 but slowest among all 3(528 MHz but lesser RAM). It is least priced. Camera resolution also is lower than wildfire I guess.

My opinion, go for wildfire, I am using one myself.

Review of HTC Desire HD

HTC Desire HD – User Review

I don't know when it is going to be released, but I've had a look at the HTC Desire HD. One of my colleagues has purchased it. Even though performance wise it's every bit as good as the HTC desire, it trades display quality for display size. The display, even though bigger cannot display colors and blacks as vividly as the desire. It was a letdown for me. On further investigation I found that it doesn't have an AMOLED display but an LCD one:(

Also, it's bulky and too massive to hold in one hand. : P I'd strongly recommend the desire or a sub 3.7 inches for pragmatic use as a phone.

Android v2.3 GingerBread

Android v2.3 Ginger Bread

After the Android v2.2 Foryo the Android development team just made the latest version of the mobile platform i.e. Android v2.3 which is called Ginger Bread. This new version of OS  has all the cool new features as well as extended API support improved power management and improved performance.

Below are the new features that android v 2.3 are supposed to have:

1.) Improved Text selection: - The text selection has been improved in this version like copy and pasting text while web browsing or messaging. Marking of text will be a little easier.

2.) Better Battery Backup: - Earlier Android versions have reportedly giving poor battery backup so Google has come up with better ways of managing battery like closing applications if not in use to make sure that the battery management is done in right way.

3.) Download Management: - There will be a single application now which will give users a single view of all the ongoing downloads .The downloads may be through web browser, email or any other application for that matter.

4.) Improved Camera Interface: - The camera interface this time will be a lot more improved then previous versions.

5.) Internet Calling: - This time Gingerbread includes Internet calling, through SIP, NFC (Near Field Communication) support.

In the current scenario the two phones which will be having the latest Android v2.3 GingerBread are new Samsung Google Nexus S and earlier launched Nexus One.

Google Nexus S - Samsung Made Google Nexus S Going to Launch at $529

Google Nexus S - Android v2.3 Gingerbread

To Start with a review this is what Google wrote in a blog post about the Google Nexus S “"Nexus S delivers what we call a 'pure Google' experience: unlocked, unfiltered access to the best Google mobile services and the latest and greatest Android releases and updates".

Earlier Google Nexus one may be a disappointment in the market but now Google has come up with the Nexus S which have features that will give a tough competition to all the other Android based phones in the market.

Samsung is going to launch Google Nexus S that will run on Androidv2.3 Gingerbread as expected. The Samsung-made smart phone features the latest Android version and an unusual curved display that should be more comfortable to handle and hold next to the face.

Google Nexus S features almost the same specs as the Samsung's best-selling Galaxy S like the 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen that is embedded within a curved glass .The screen comes with a special coating to minimize smudging and fingerprints. The phone and the latest version of Android also include near-field communication technology, which allows people to swipe their phones across compatible sensors and do things like make a mobile payment.

The connectivity feature of
Google Nexus S  is top-class as usual - Wi-Fi b/g/n with DLNA support, GPS, quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G with HSPA, Bluetooth and even Near Field Communications capabilities.
Other features are Nexus S is powered by the 1GHz Hummingbird processor, having 512MB RAM and 16GB internal memory. Camera is same like Galaxy S that is 5MP and with LED Flash and having HD camcorder as well. Secondary Camera is there for video calling purpose.FM Radio is absent.

Google Nexus S-Price and Availability
The Samsung Google Nexus S, will be available from Dec. 16 at the price of $529 as an unlocked phone without a contract. It will also be available for $199 with a two-year service agreement with T-Mobile.Price in India will be around 28000 INR (not sure).

Google sold Nexus One directly but this time instead of attempting to sell the device directly to consumers, and deal with having to provide customer support for the devices, the company teamed up with Best Buy to sell the new phone in both its physical and online stores.

 Reviews-

This is the device which overcomes the Desire HD's shortcomings. :)
1500MAh battery and a 4 inch display that is AMOLED. :)
Oh, it also has a VGA front facing camera, for those video calls.
